The challenge

An Alabama manufacturing facility needed to replace an existing industrial fan with equipment capable of delivering higher performance.

Simply replacing the fan with an identical unit would not provide the increased operating capability required. However, changing the fan’s dimensions or connection locations could create additional ductwork modifications and installation challenges.

The replacement needed to deliver greater performance while maintaining the existing housing size, inlet and outlet connections, and equipment centerlines.

The solution

Dynamic Air Solutions worked with the customer to develop a higher-performance replacement that would fit the existing system.

Rather than requiring a complete equipment redesign, the team increased the fan’s construction class and operating speed while retaining the original housing dimensions.

An AirPro IEPW 451 fan was selected with Class 30 construction and a larger 125 HP motor to accommodate the increased performance requirements.

The inlet and outlet connections, mounting arrangement, and equipment centerlines were maintained to match the existing installation.

This approach provided an upgraded fan configuration designed to increase system performance without requiring modifications to the surrounding ductwork.

Equipment & components

Key outcomes:

  • Higher-performance replacement fan supplied
  • Fan construction upgraded to Class 30
  • Larger motor provided to accommodate increased performance
  • Existing housing dimensions maintained
  • Inlet, outlet, and equipment centerlines preserved
  • Replacement configured to avoid ductwork modifications

Dynamic Air Solutions provided an upgraded fan configuration designed to meet the facility’s increased performance requirements while maintaining compatibility with the existing installation.
